COOKWARE FAQ

Can I use your cookware on my glass/ceramic or induction stove?

Yes. Our cast iron cookware can be used on any cooking surface: gas, electric coil, glass/ceramic, induction, grill, etc. We take great care to smooth the bottom surface of our cookware to avoid damage to glass/ceramic stove tops, but as with all cookware, please be gentle when moving the skillet. Avoid sliding the skillet if possible; it’s safer to lift and set.

Is your cookware oven, grill and fire safe?

Yes. One of the best features of cast iron is that it can be safely used in or over any heat source. You can even use it for baking. Please be careful handling the cookware after removing it from a closed heat source like the oven, grill or from over the fire. It needs plenty of time to cool.

What kind of cooking utensils should I use with cast iron?

Any kind you like. You don’t have to worry about scratching cast iron with metal utensils. In fact, we recommend metal utensils. The best tool for the job seems to be a basic, old-fashioned metal spatula.

Find one with a straight, flat edge and rounded corners. The flat edge will help you get under your food, while the rounded corners will prevent any gouging.

MANY Options, ONE Stargazer

I bought this to celebrate our 6-year anniversary (traditionally iron) and the Stargazer 10.5 is now the best piece of cookware we own. I researched a ton on cast iron cookware and decided to go with the Stargazer…and I am so pleased I did! Fantastic quality, lightweight, a true heirloom. 10/10

Granny’s choice

Love this pan. I’m 76 years old so appreciate that it’s not too heavy and cleans beautifully.

Highly Recommend Yall

This is my second skillet purchase from Stargazer and I'm again pretty dang happy. The new smaller version is just as great as the large variety I previously owned. This heats and cooks evenly and on a smooth clean cast iron surface. I reseasoned 2x in the oven and then went right to work. If you're looking for a quality USA Made product, look no further. The etching on the underside is a great throwback and shows pride and ownership of their craft. I use cast iron to cook on every day and I choose this product over and over every day. This is a quality made skillet that your kids will fight over when you're no longer on this side of the flowers.

Love cooking in this pan

Love cooking in this pan. My youngest daughter loved it also, so I gave it to her and bought a second one for myself.

Fantastic pan!

Bought this pan based on the recommendations online and it hasn’t disappointed after a month! No issues with sticking and the quality is great. I’ve been cooking eggs, potatoes, chicken, salmon, vegetables, and pancakes and it’s all tasted great. My only complaint is I wish they were coming out with a 10.5” lid too.

Daily Driver for 7 Years Now

Was browsing the site and realized I never left a review. After 7 years of daily use this pan is still my go to, my pride and joy, and my most cherished kitchen item. I got this as a wedding gift and it's now responsible for years of feeding me, my wife, my friends and family, and now our toddler. I can't speak enough to quality of the pan, it takes a beating and continues to ask for more. I don't see it failing any time soon and plan to pass it down to my daughter or her children as an heirloom. My only regret is not also buying the 12".

Great pan, cool handle, lighter weight

I was looking for a 10 inch cast iron skillet, and my son mentioned this brand. He had received one from a kitchen savvy friend, and he highly recommended it. I decided to get one, and it is perfect. It is lighter weight than other brands, and the handle definitely stays cooler for stove top use, and provides a utensil rest too. The seasoning was great right out of the box. It did a nice job on home fries and fried eggs, and I was very happy to be able to accommodate a double batch of Jiffy cornbread in the oven, for that lovely crispy crust.

Heavy duty *Light* pan

Beautiful pan, the 10.5’’ can be compact and versatile for the modern kitchen. It is not as heavy as other brands. I’ve had my stargazer for a few weeks and the seasoning has developed a rich burgundy ochre. Quality pan and beautiful.

My first iron skillet and an EXCELLENT choice, very happy

I'm very happy with the quality and construction of these skillets. The weight is great and the design I like a lot. The design of the handles slows down the heat traveling up them so you have plenty of time to handle them before its unbearable. The lip design is great for pouring at any point. Overall they are very good and I highly recommend.

Amazing 10.5 skillet

This is hands down my absolute favorite cast iron pan. I own a lot of cast iron, 17 in total. I’ve got Staub, le creuset, smithey, Wagner, lodge and several other no name brands. This Stargazer is by FAR the absolute best cast iron pan I own. It has a beautiful and unique design. The stay cool handle is awesome. It seasons like a dream and holds seasoning great. I use it everyday and I actually look forward to making breakfast each day. The only disappointment has nothing to do with the 10.5” skillet, but instead wanting a Dutch oven and they don’t make one. This pan itself is worth every penny. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one, or 2.

Great customer service!

I had some trouble seasoning but reached out to customer service as they were very helpful and responsive. They made sure I was satisfied and decided to go with the pre-seasoned option.

Its great for my eggs and pancakes that I'm constantly cooking for my boys. Safe and smooth finish no more worry about enamel breaking off into my food.

The best customer service yet!

Great pan

I got the 10.5" pre-seasoned skillet. Right away, I did a maintenance seasoning and then a full seasoning, using grapeseed oil. Then baked a pan pizza with a lot of olive oil under the crust, to build more seasoning. After baking, I wanted the crust a little more brown, so I put it on the stove for 2 minutes on medium-low heat. That browned the bottom crust nicely and made it slightly crunchy. A week later, another pan pizza. Finally I started cooking eggs over easy every morning, always with olive oil, sometimes with a little butter too. For the eggs, I use only low settings on an induction cooktop. The eggs don't stick. This pan has a very flat and smooth cooking surface - a completely different surface altogether from my old Lodge cast iron pans. After each use I let the pan cool a bit and then wipe it down so that there is only a thin layer of oil on the pan before the next use. I'm very happy with this pan.

Stargazer fan for life!

I was made aware of this brand while watching a YouTube video. I've always loved cooking on my cast iron. I had no idea how my cleaning ritual was so painful and ominous every time until I bought a stargazer. Depends heat up consistently. Pouring out of the rolled Rim is very easy. I have had nothing stick and cook eggs in it everyday. The bottom of the pan is very smooth and the ergonomics of the handles is amazing. If I had to give it one piece of constructive criticism it is that they pan is difficult to build up seasoning. Seasoning doesn't stick well but yet again I haven't had food stick to it so it is been a non-issue for the most part. I love that so much that I came back to get the larger 12-in and will be back to get the other to complete my set eventually. I'm not a professional cook but I am a cast iron cooking enthusiast. I will never go back to the lesser brands of cast iron cookware. I was honestly appalled at the critical review from Shannon Rollins. I think Kent was a little more honest. Thank you for building American Quality!

You’ll Love It!!

Being from Tennessee,I steered towards Lodge.
I have several Lodge pans and still use them. Kent Rollins mentioned Stargazer in one of his videos so I inquired. The rest is history!
Stargazer is a bit expensive compared to Lodge but it’s worth the price!

Great ergonomics, thermal dynamics and fit and finish !!!!

I got this pan after caring for a smithy for 5 years. Stargazer blew smithy out of the water with holding its seasoning well. other than the pan surface the rough surface is smooth and lovely.the ergonomics are great! the handle doesn’t get to hot.Fits perfectly on the big burner on my stove top and could make a great pie pan as well.

In my personal opinion I would prefer a glass lid to go with it not a cast iron.

I would love to see a STARGAZER camping griddle !!!!

The best!!

I’ve had this skillet for 8 years and I’ve used it almost daily since I got it. This has been one of the best investments for my kitchen. It cooks everything beautifully and it’s not as heavy as other cast irons. I cannot recommend it enough.

A truly quality skillet that has not been equaled

A truly quality skillet that has not been equaled by two other, currently popular modern skillets. Both of those went back for a refund. I couldn't be more pleased with how this skillet holds a seasoning and is about as close to non-stick as it can be. With a week of cooking with it at least twice a day, it just keeps getting better and better with each meal. Thank you, Peter.

These pans rock. So stoked to be able to find an American made cast iron pan that doesn’t come pre seasoned with seed oil. These pans work amazing, and will be in my family for generations to come.

I’ve owned Smitheys, Field, Griswold, Wagner, and

I’ve owned Smitheys, Finex, Field, Griswold, Lodge, Wagner, and Stargazer has been my favorite. I believe that each skillet I named has a place and function. Stargazer gives me some of the weight that I like with Lodge and Smithey, but the handle makes the skillet lighter and more functional. This is a beautiful design and something that is my daily driver. I feel comfortable baking and grilling with this. I have concerns warping a Field or my older skillet, zero concerns with the Stargazer.

I own several Fields, Lodge, and sold my Smitheys to purchase the Stargazer. Ive owened Griswolds and a Sydeny Wagner National. This is a very impressive cast iron slkillet. I love the handle, helper handle, and the weight. This may be my favorite. Very happy with my purchase.
