12-Inch Cast Iron Lid

I use a propane burner to season my cast iron, which I did with this lid. I wasn’t going for the “dark black” seasoning I do with my pans, only a good mahogany brown. When I used it to make a homemade “rice-a-roni” dish, the steam/water condensed on the lid did not stick at all! It just rolled around like it was condensed on a perfectly smooth surface. I wasn’t honestly amazed, since I use cast iron almost exclusively for cooking, and I’ve never experienced such perfection.

The lid is made well with a fantastic fit and snug the way you should expect it. I've had pieces of cast iron from all the major makers and Stargazer stands tall. I keep watching and hoping for a smaller pan, maybe a 5-6 inch.

Worth the wait. The lid is simplistic and beautiful in design. The knob is fantastic and the logo is spot on. As an owner of pieces from all of the best in the industry, I have to be honest and state that Stargazer is my favorite cast iron pan and now that my lid has finally arrived, the puzzle is complete. The functionality is exceptional in keeping moisture in, the stovetop cleaner, and oven use on par with any restaurant result. If you’re on the fence, jump over. This lid is “tops”.

Fits well, matches exactly, easily stores upside down in the pan

Our 12 inch skillet lives on our cooktop… we use it that frequently that there is no valid reason to “put it away”. I pre-ordered the lid back in mid-November. I admit that I was getting a little impatient… especially when I saw that others were receiving their pre-orders. I must agree with other reviewers comments though that it was worth the wait! The lids are absolutely beautiful. Such amazing design and craftsmanship. A perfect fit on top of the skillet with just enough “hands of the craftsman” marks to show that it was finished individually by hand. Packaging was also well thought out and put together. Well done, Stargazer! Another home run!

A flawless, precise fit for my 12 inch Stargazer. I'd tried to make do with other 12 inch lids I owned but nothing came close to making a tight seal on my skillet. Your manufacturing process is extraordinary. Thanks for your careful attention to every detail.

I love my Stargazer Cast Iron Lid to an absurd degree. The lid is beautifully understated and fits well with the skillet. I love how well it seals in moisture like a braiser and remains easy to clean even after greasy bacon cooking.

I was concerned about seasoning after placing my initial order, but Stargazer included a thoughtful set of step-by-step instructions that were as easy to follow aw they were effective.

Perfect match for my 12 in Stargazer!

Looks great and fits my 12-inch skillet that I’ve had for years. The knob screws on securely and I can still get it off even after seasoning.

My son is thrilled with his 12" Stargazer Lid. He was telling me that he can now cook different ways; he no longer has to buy the heavy-duty alum foil; he's got the cool lid that fits PERFECTLY and not heavy!! He's trying all different kinds of recipes now. Perfect for his stovetop as well as the family camping trips.

The lid is sleek and stylish and I’ve already used it to bake chicken in the oven.
Also glad to have a lid on my pan while it sits out on my stove between cooking to keep dust and bugs off the oiled surface.
I realized that with the height of the lid, I can’t store the pan in a smaller shelf anymore, but that’s ok!

I pre ordered these lids as soon as they were available for order.
Took a while to receive but so glad I ordered them.
Recently received them and the are a great fit... definitely a must have!

Great product but watch your wife to make sure she doesn't allow it to rust on you from the condensation! I had to remove rust and re-season after the first time she used it because she didn't think of treating it the same way as the skillet after she used it. It will need to be dried and oiled and treated like cast iron.

Beautiful, and I am glad that the handle is also metal-I actually have enameled cast iron from a well known company that came with a plastic lid handle. So happy with Stargazer products, I use the 10 inch daily, often more than once.

It was a long wait, but it was worth it. The top is the perfect complement to the best frying pan there is. I look forward to using them for the rest of my life.

As usual, Stargazer has created a beautiful heirloom vintage inspire cast iron lid for the 12 inch/number 10 skillet which shall be enjoyed for years to come.

I ordered the wrong sized lid, but unboxing and looking at the lid, it looks excellent. I returned it with no problems and ordered the small one for my pan. Hoping to be receiving it shortly.

Very nice lid. Great fit, heavy duty like their pans. Overall an excellent lid.

I liked it. A little pricey but wanted the lid and pan together. I didn't notice it when I bought the pan.. the quality is there and I have one now if needed.

I ordered both lids on 11/05/2025 when they were first released. I received them both today and they are both perfect. The fit and finish are typical Stargazer quality which is second to none. They were well worth the wait and I’ll be ordering the 10.5” lid as soon as it’s available.
