12-Inch Cast Iron Skillet - Seasoned Misfit

I’ve cooked on a lot of cast iron and this 12” stargazer immediately earned a permanent spot on my stove. I’ve already used it for burgers, omelets, pork chops, frying, breakfast eggs and it performs exactly how a great piece of cast iron should. The heat retention is excellent, cooks evenly and has weight that feels intentional.

What has impressed me the most is how quickly it took seasoning and how it’s developing. After just a short time it already has that deep dark color and broken in smooth feel that you usually wait a long time for. On top of that the design is clean and beautiful and it looks great just sitting out.

Definitely an heirloom piece you cook on your whole life and pass down. I’m already looking forward to adding more Stargazer pieces in the future.

I love this pan! Most cast iron pans have a handle that gets hot and is straight out. This handle stays cooler and has a great angle making it easier to maneuver. The extra handle is easy to grip when you have to move the pan. It is very smooth and makes keeping it seasoned and non stick much easier too!!

Nice looking and thought out design love it

I've used a number of cast iron pans over the years, and this is -- hands-down -- my favorite. It's lighter, the handle is longer, and the surface is smoother. Kudos Stargazer.

I have had my pans for a couple weeks now and so far I am very happy with them. You can tell upon first seeing them, they are made with pride and attention to detail. My only complaint is the edges of the handle, an included leather sleeve, would be a nice touch.

I became interested in cast iron cooking a few years ago because I wanted to to get away from using plastic and chemical coatings, but it takes years to get a pan to become semi-nonstick, on a good day. So - I started researching options. I wanted something that was lifetime-quality, and you can sure go down a rabbit hole of info. Some seemed nice, but unaffordable. I knew I wanted a smooth finish, and was a little confused about Stargazer’s “smooth” but “micro-textured” finish. Their amazing try-it policy with free returns pushed me over the edge and I can’t tell you how happy I am! I got the 12” skillet pre-seasoned, and seasoned it one more time due to paranoia. What a thing of beauty - just a stunning pan! And it’s TRUE - it’s really non-stick! And smooth! the first things I cooked were fried fish, then fried eggs, then bacon, then scrambled eggs ( which tend to stick more than fried eggs for some reason) - all worked just beautifully! The handle is perfect, the side slopes are perfect, the height is perfect. And the flared edge all the way around is so much better than a pour-spout - if you’re pouring thick liquids like gravy, pour spouts are useless, but the flared edge is genius. Get this pan - you’ll love it! I keep it on the stovetop because it’s beautiful and used daily!
