I have 2 countertop cast iron racks. The Stargazers sit amongst my Great Grandmothers Griswolds, my Butterpats and a Smithey.
But... the pans I reach for every single time are always the Stargazers. Every single time!
I finally completed the set. It was my honor to serve our country for 22+ years and it's humbling to have a company offer such a nice discount privately, without drawing attention to themselves, to people that have served, to honor Veteran's Day or Memorial Day. Very special thanks.
People talk about seasoning these pans. I have never done anything but stove top seasoning of the cook surface, about once a year, and the pans are perfectly nonstick and used daily. Just cook, that's all you need to do. Medium heat is all that's needed.
I love that this company stands by the values they started with.
Do a thing. Do it in your own country.
Do it the better than anyone else. Keep your price reasonable.
Don't expand beyond your ability to be the very best at what you do.
Honor and integrity are hard to find these days. Easy to find at Stargazer.
These are the Griswolds of this century. They arrive looking like art and yet, right out of the box, they are ready for generations of feeding us and our families. I love the early months of splotchy *looking* seasoning (it only *looks* like it's gone!) while fading slowly into years of feeding the people that mean the most to me and the smooth dark brown finish that tells of a life well lived. Just like my Great Grandmother's Griswolds, they will tell the same story to the future.
(your teflon and even stainless will end up taking up space in mountains made from trash/landfills)
Buy it for life. A life lived well. Mindful instead of mindless consumerism.
If you can, buy one, even if you have to save pocket change for a year, I predict that Stargazer will be the one you always reach for first.
