Mother's Day Gift Guide 2021

Mother's Day Gift Guide 2021

I don't know about you, but I can't wait for Mother's Day. Breakfast in bed, flowers, gifts, a day of relaxation... Then I awake from my dream and hope that my husband even remembered. Just kidding. He's usually pretty thoughtful, but I can understand that sometimes the struggle is real. Don't worry - I'm here to help. I've put together a list of items from my very own wish list that I'm sure will help make it look like you really put some thought into this Mother's Day (wink, wink).

First up - new spices. I can almost guarantee that your wife has some expired spices in the pantry. I recently did a quick sweep through my own collection and found some that went bad a good 5+ years ago. Spicewalla has a wonderful collection to browse, but this kitchen essentials collection should have the basics covered.

I think I've consumed more ice cream in 2020 than I have in any other year of my life. So I've become somewhat of an expert on the subject and let me tell you, Jeni's is some of the best. My top picks: peanut butter with chocolate flecks and green mint chip. Pick out a few that look good to you (trust me, there are no wrong answers here) and have them shipped right to your door! I sure wouldn't mind a half dozen of these being gifted to me.

Who needs diamonds when you can wear your cravings?! I'm not sure if you know this about me, but I'm obsessed with lobster rolls (no joke, my license plate says Lobster Roll). I also have an unhealthy obsession with nachos. Heck, I just love food. If the mothers in your life feel the same way, this could make a fun gift.

Love, love, love Callie's Hot Little Biscuit. Whenever I find myself in Charleston, this place is always on my list. Trust me when I say you can't go wrong with any of their biscuit selections. The good news? You can have these delivered right to your door. In fact, if you're a planner, you could have Al's Picks delivered before Mother's Day and you'd be all set for that perfect breakfast in bed moment.

Okay, I secretly want one of these Goldbelly Live! classes gifted to me for Mother's Day. Learn to make dumplings from well-known dumpling spot Mimi Cheng's in NYC? Yes, please! There's quite a few different cuisine options on the list right now and I'm sure more will be added in time for Mother's Day. Side note: Goldbelly also ships awesome food from some of the best spots around if you want a break from cooking.

If you've got a Live, Laugh, Love dish towel hanging from your oven, it's time to grow up. Allow me to introduce Geometry. They've got so many options that I'm sure you can find some that fit the style of your wife or mom. What's that? You have no idea what they'd want? No worries - check out my picks above.

How could I make a list of things I want and not include a 10.5-inch Stargazer skillet?! Yes, I work here. Yes, I own a couple already. But here's the deal - I recently bought one of those colorful, ceramic-coated cookware sets I found on Instagram and let me tell you, the coating is already chipping. And you know what that did? It made me appreciate my cast iron even more. So here's to buying quality cookware for Mother's Day!

This pick is slightly expensive, but it's a really great idea. When someone walks into your home and asks where you got that super cool vase from, your wife will be able to enthusiastically say "I made it!" That's right. She gets to paint it and the Jill Rosenwald team will handle the glaze, fire and finish and send it back to you. If DIY isn't her thing, there are some great premade designs to choose from.

If you're still not sure what to get your wife or mom for Mother's Day, then I don't know what to tell you! What I can tell you is that 2020 was a year and we all deserve something special after what we had to endure. If there's a time to overindulge, it's now.
